- How I started liking Aladdin: mmm when the movie came out I was 5 years, but I really loved it, so I told my mom that I wanted the movie as a b-day present, and she told me to wait, because the VHS was only in english, and if you read above, you noticed that I'm from mexico, so my first lenguge is spanish.. so I told her no, that I wanted the movie and that I didn't care if it was in english.. so, somehow, that movie has helpped me to learn english, that movie that my mom gave me when I turned 6, is the one that I see at least one time per week... I also have the soundtrack in spanish, but the movie I couldn't find it.. so I don't have it...

- What I like the best about Aladdin: wow!! everything... the first thing that noticed in the movie was the songs... I love them... but is the whole movie in general that makes me like the movie the many many times I've seen it...

- How I started liking Aladdin: I live in Andalusia (the Moorish Spain) so I grow up with the stories of the Arabians who lived here long ago. When Aladdin came out I never watched the movie in the theaters. My dad and I had a bad car accident and I had to spend some weeks in the hospital. One day someone brought a pile of videos for me to watch. One of those was "Aladdin" and I really liked it! Few years later I was searching online for some Aladdin songs and thanks to a happy inconvenience I met a dear friend who brought me to the AML. The rest is history!

- What I like the best about Aladdin: The whole Arabic theme. I'm a big fan of Arabic culture.

Notes About Me: I'm starting my last year of university. I'm studying engineering. I love music but I do not watch much TV or movies. I consider myself a very friendly person. I have lots of friends (who think I'm a little loud and hyper. He!) I am always happy and try to be optimistic. I have a boyfriend I adore and lots of wonderful friends online and offline. - How I started liking Aladdin: I had watched the movie because of my little nieces of nephews and I found it very funny. I've only seen the Mexican version of it, never the original English one. One day about a year ago I met Evi in a mexican BBS and we became friends. She was the one who actually got me interested in the Aladdin-verse. Now I've seen the sequels to the movie and some episodes of the TV series.

- What I like the best about Aladdin: Romance. I'm a hopeless romantic! And then there's humor. I always love a good funny movie and this one is FUNNY in the best possible way!

OK, now onto Aladdin and me. :) When I was younger, my favourite character was Jasmine because I wanted to be her (for starters, she marries Aladdin!), now, I would say that Aladdin *and* Jasmine are my favourites. I still remember a lot about the first time that I saw Aladdin...I laughed when my dad asked me the name of "that guy who was stealing the bread in the beginning of the movie" (I think he was joking, now that I look back), liked the way Jasmine said "And does...*Abu* have anything else to say?", laughed a lot at the Genie and especially enjoyed his Pinocchio and Sebastian gags, imitated Jasmine's "How dare you? *All* of you!..." outburst on the playground MANY times after seeing this movie, was mesmerised by "A Whole New World," was so disturbed by the Jasmine/Jafar kiss that I actually remembered that kiss much more clearly than either Al/Jas kiss after the first viewing, and I thought that at the end of the movie, Aladdin and Jasmine really were going to have to part ways. I love the fact that throughout the course of three movies and a TV show, Aladdin and Jasmine especially really grew and developed further as characters, and I still think that as far as fictional romances go, their relationship is the most beautiful I have seen. I love the blend of action, romance, angst, and comedy that exists throughout the "Aladdin-verse." Jasmine says it best..."It's all so magical..."

About me: I'm a historian with a Masters degree in Restoration of Historical Monuments. Currently I am working on several history projects such as the search for the legendary underground tunnels in the city, built back in the 17th century; I recently wrote a book about legends of Salamanca which is going to be published within the end of the year; I mainly do field work but I also enjoy working in the historical archives and in the Center of Arts and Culture of the city. I also work in a high school teaching History of Contemporary Mexico, History of Ancient Mexico, History of Art and History of Culture.

Hobbies: When I am not working I enjoy outdoor activities: gardening, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, rappel, etc. I also love reading and writing and I am a big fan of photography.

My favorite books in no special order are: The Arabian Nights (the Blasco Ibañes translation); Rhymes and Legends by Gustavo Adolfo Becquer; The Never Ending Story by Michael Ende; The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho; One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Marquez; Clemencia by Ignacio Manuel Altamirano and any history book I put my hands on.

About Aladdin, I fell in love with the movie when I first watched it when it came out on video (I never had the chance to watch it on the big screen!). I've been fascinated by the Arabian culture since I was a little girl and tha made me love the movie from the first moment. For years I was a lonely fan, until I got Internet access back in 1996 and I met other Aladdin fans. A couple of years later I decided to start the AML with only a handful of members and since then I've watched it grow stronger day after day.

I've writen some Aladdin fanfiction but mainly my writing focuses on an universe related to Aladdin but mainly based on the tales from the Arabian Nights, the A+A-verse as we call it.

Favorite characters: Aladdin and Jasmine as a couple. They are a very strong couple and I've always been fascinated by their romance and by the way they complement each other so perfectly.

Why I love Aladdin: I think what drew me to it originally was the adventure and the music. As I got older, I've appreciated more of the humor and the romance. I analyse things to much, and I find I can analyse "Aladdin" over and over.Although I still don't get some of the political jokes. I was only 6 when it came out, maybe 7. I think it is great that so many people around the world can get together to talk about one movie.

Other: What can I say? I've been an Aladdin fan since I saw the movie when I was little, and I've been hooked ever since. The movie was such an inspiration to me, and even when I watch it now I can feel it's magic working. ;) So many strong points, good messages, love and strength, and humor that I find funny even after ten years, Disney's Aladdin is one of the classics and one of the best.

Other than that, I live in California, play softball, and like to hang out with my friends. Unfortunately, though, none of them seem to hold my passion for Disney. Has been Aladdin fan since: day one! From the moment that I read the first page of the comic version it was love at first sprite...ehm..sight.

Is a fan because: the characters, the music, the feeling that I get when I see something Aladdin if it's animation, books, a picture that feeling never happend with any movie before and after Aladdin. Joined the AML because: saw an ad for the AML on another Disney ML, DAFT. The reason I visited the site there was because there's Aladdin stuff, fics/art/pics. Turned out that the Aladdin Mailinglist was only a few weeks old. I never left (not even for a shorttime), posted thousands of times and reads (almost) all messages. Checking for messages on the AML is a daily routine since fall of 1997.

- How I started liking Aladdin: I have always enjoyed "Aladdin", but my obsession (for lack of a better term) started four years ago, after dropping my 'Disney is for kids' attitude and embracing the mouse. I started into the weekly habit of renting Aladdin every week at Blockbuster, until I finally picked up a copy on a used-video website. Upon re-buying "King of Thieves", the desire to write fanfiction began. I plodded along, writing out of character/canon contradicting fanfiction, which never got anywhere due to my realization that it was terrible. My family got digital cable in July, 2002, which included Toon Disney, which included the Aladdin series. Since then, I'm been having escapades in characterization, and plot bunnies coming out of my rear at an alarming rate. Me thinks I need a cork!
- What I like the best about Aladdin: It's hard for me to pick out one aspect of the series I like the best. It's everything, both the individual pieces and the big puzzle that makes the Aladdin series worth it to me. It's the growth of the characters, the magnificence of the settings, the very atmosphere that makes the series great. - How I started liking Aladdin: I really liked it when it came out originally, bought the VHS and watched the series. However, for a long time I preferred The Lion King and even wnent through a very silly and annoying anti-Disney stage. Then about four years ago, a friend of mine remarked on how much she liked Aladdin, so I went back to watch it, just to remind myself of what it was like... And I haven't looked back since. :)
