Now, here's a question in regards to the recent topic of conversation. What do any Disney villains want to do when they rule the world? I mean, none of them have really given a reason for their actions. Maybe I'm just spoilt by Anime. The villains more or less always have a reason for what they do, though it isn't revealed until the series is almost over. But, from what I've seen, in most cases, I end up being able to sympathize with said villain. We don't know Mozenrath's past. We can only guess and come up with our own theories for fanfic purposes. Maybe he grew up kind of poor and was tired of the government and wants to take back what he feels is rightfully his. There's also the issue of power. He keeps having to have more. Maybe once he realized his potential, he knew just what he wanted to do with that "potential". There could be a lot of reasons as to why he wants to rule the seven deserts, and I think they link to something that happened in his childhood. As for why he doesn't just zap himself into Aladdin's hovel and stab him? Who knows? There have been times when Genie could have used his magic to turn Mechanicles into a slug, but it didn't happen, so go figure. I'm sure there's reasons us fans can come up with, though. The closest I can come up with is that maybe he wants Aladdin to suffer as he's dying, and not kill him instantly. As for Mirage, or any villain who just runs away after being defeated, for some reason it's too risky to keep fighting when you've been beaten. Probably any villain who does this feels it's time for a new plan of attack. (Or they might spontaniously combust if they keep fighting at that point.) ~Hikaru
Mirage because not only is she more powerful, but her threats spelled doom often for all of Agrabah. Without his gauntlet, Mozenrath was powerless.
In Shadow of a Doubt, When Chaos Comes Calling and While the City Snoozes, it was more than just Aladdin who were under danger from Mirage.

Hmm, this thread's getting out of hand, but what do I care. Go have your fun here *shrugs*
And Mirage does seem strange in a way, but I suppose that's how she is, since she's the "Evil Incarnate" afterall!

So when Aladdin saw Streetrat!Jasmine, he actually fell in love with Sadira and that's how he remembered?
Yeah, but they refered to Sadira by her name, not as Jasmine.

I find it amusing how some TLK fans like the sequels but denounce the Aladdin sequels and series
I HATEHATEHATEHATE LK II, yet they LOVE it because it's sorta like the original (which I completely disagree). I HATE Romeo and Juliet, so that put it more towards the negative side from the start.
I LOVE LK 1 1/2 and they HATE it because it mocks the first one and makes it a satire/a joke, which is why I love it
. I love comedy and to be able to make a movie that spoofs the original AND it be good is rare.
I'm not a big fan of their series, either. What's the point? And this is coming from someone who loves Timon dearly.
There are only a few sequels I hate: Pocahontas II, HBoND II, LK II, TLM II, and Cinderella II. I don't care what fandom they belong to--if it sucks it sucks.
A lot of them I am "meh" on or "ok" with, but it is a rare, rare, rare moment when I *love* a sequel. I can count the number I love on one hand. I would have still loved KOT even with an Aladdin bias cause it's *good*. It has some depth, which is what a lot of these sequels are missing.

I was actually thinking about Sadira's schemes, and wondered why she never tried to switch bodies with Jasmine. Maybe Sandswitch took care of that scenario?
She did, but she didn't
. It was more like switch lives and then have everyone think she was the princess. She still looked like herself (in Jasmine's clothes) and she was recognized as such, but she wasn't Jasmine herself.
For all we know that spell may have made her look like Jasmine to everyone but the animals.

I was going to comment on how silly this thread has gotten, but I think I helped to steer it that way.
