I love the song "Hellfire." It is such a powerful villain song (Tony Jay's voice is so fascinating to hear) and demonstrates Frollo's twisted mentality so perfectly. It's also, come to think of it, a rather perverse subversion of the archetypal "I want" song that are often in Disney movies (thank you, Howard Ashman :) ) I also adore the juxtaposition between it and the song "Heaven's Light" that Quasi sings right before, especially since they portray such extremes of Esmeralda, something I've always been fascinated with regarding this film. Quasi regards her as this pious, almost goddess-like individual, whereas Frollo's views her as this wicked siren with the powers of Satan, which demonstrates how they view the world around them. I know some people hate that Esmeralda didn't end up with Quasi and think it's because she thinks he's ugly, but that's not it. Both Quasi and Frollo's have these idealized images of her and view only through this filter, so to speak, so they are not seeing her as a truly "complete" individual. Yes, she is a kind and generous individual, but she also is capable of demonstating her sexuality. Personally, that's why I think her and Pheobus are a good match because he sees both sides of her personality, not just the angel or the villainous siren. I've never seen Amadeus before, but I have heard a rap about Mozart that I learned back in elementary school. "Yo Mo, come on Amadeus, whatcha gonna play us?" Yeah, it's kinda weird, but it makes me laugh every time I hear it.
I got a little emotional when he said something like "I was afraid for my career, and then the first song I wrote with (not Howard) was 'A Whole New World.'"

I wish we could do a Q&A with the series writers to ask. I think we only have Tad Stones as far as series creators left since Alan Zaslove died in 2019.
They're so annoying I love them

*heart reaccs to all the above*
I love that one page sample haha. I looked it up on ebay and one line just says "Iago rants." Are they just writing into the script that Gibert has to improvise?
Also saw "Aladdin immediately puts his arms around Jasmine and thought of your every-opportunity-to-touch

This page from "The Hunted" that someone is selling made me realize somewhere out there, scattered over 86 scripts, are a list of all of Genies transformations/references in the series that we'll never fully have
I also wish an official script for a Mechanicles episode would pop up so we can see what spelling Disney picked. I've seen "Mekanicles" on merchandise but who knows?

Ah, correction. It was just Linda this weekend. Scott was there two years ago. Time is no longer linear to me since the pandemic

I saw the pic of her with Jodi Benson! The con is in Connecticut, too far for us right now. Sounds like a fun con though!

No romantic feelings for me, but as a kid Genie definitely filled my need for a father figure, especially during the time when I really start to distant myself from my father (it's complicated and I rather not get into that now here. All I will say is that my father may be a decent man, but a horrible father and was never there for me in times of need).

Eh don't worry about it. I know I'm not the only one on this thread with romantic feelings for a cartoon fox

I'm not in love with Carpet anymore, I realized it kind of counts as... zoophilia in a way. I wanted to be in love with Genie but was worried how other people who had the same feelings would feel.
