A medicine woman being cut up, the magician's head being cut off, implications of intercourse (Didn't know if your parental guardian would allow the other word Jas ), etc. Something happens to the brother of the magician, too, but I can't remember. I'm sure he died some horrible death So it's not that far off from Ali Baba on the "not kid friendly" scale.

Wow, never knew that.
In Ali Baba, this dude gets cut in four pieces and nailed to the wall, two thieves are murdered (and eaten? i can't remember) because they failed, 37 thieves get oil poured on them and die, a belly-dancing servant plunges a knife into a dude's heart... am I missing things?... _________________

Nah, that's about it Being boiled to death by hot oil: ouch. And poor jealous Kassim going into the cave and forgetting the words to get out. Sad....NOT!
Aladdin had the princess poison the magician before he cut off his head, though. He's so nice |

Who knows. I can see the word pornography, but the word p*rn sends it haywire. I can see Gilbert's Pee Wee Herman joke (yes - the one that got him censored and cut off tv in the 90's ) but tried to go to a Veggie Tales (cute, harmless Christian computer animated cartoon) website for Natalie and it wouldn't let me. _________________

The original Aladdin. The "magician" as he is called kidnapped the princess and stole Aladdin's palace/moved it back to his home of Africa. Aladdin used the Genie of the ring to transport himself to where the palace was located, found the princess in her room and told her his plan to get rid of the magician since that was the only way he was going to get the lamp from by his side. Basically, the plan was to get him to drink some poison he had to knock him out.
The princess then pretended she had fallen in love with him (boy, doesn't this sound familiar ) and they had dinner, drinks, blah, blah, blah to celebrate. One of the servant girls brought them another cup of wine, but this time his had the poison in it. They made a toast, he drank it and was slowly dying and rolling around on the floor. Aladdin came once the dude was poisoned, kissed the princess (man, did they do a good job keeping them in character or what? ) and told her and her servant to leave. Once they left, he cut the magician's head off. Some stories just say he "slaid" him, as well.
And after that, he had dinner with the princess Nothing like a nice meal after killing someone. |

^^ The original stories are really good....until Disney get's a hold of them. But, the Disney versions are good too....otherwise, *gasp* I would've never liked Aladdin. _________________ "You know what happens when my mom uses fabric softener?"

The thing that annoys me is how everyone was freaking out over the "cut off your ear" line and threatening to cut off Jasmine's hand in our story. Hello? Have they read the original? People were getting their whole BODIES cut. Would they have preferred that since they wanted it to be as "accurate" to how things really were/are?

Indeed. That whole "Prince Ali" segment is when the sultan says in order to marry his daughter he has to bring him *insert obsessive list here*. He didn't think he'd be able to do it
Jafar having Genie movie the palace, the announcement, first laying eyes on the princess from above...oh we'd be here all day with the allusions. |

Both of them were. They said the same thing over and over again. I still think genies are interesting, though. |

Well, obviously!
