Anaheim, CA (CNS) - The list of additions coming to Disney's California Adventure just keeps growing. With the "Toy Story"-based "Midway Mania" having opened last year, even more "Toy Story" mania is set to hit the Southern California park. This time, it's "Toy Story - The Musical."
Originally brought to life on the Disney Cruise Line, the near-hour musical is set to include larger-than-life sets, costumes that bring favorite characters like Woody and Buzz to life, and original songs exclusive to the production. The musical also includes the Randy Newman hit "You've Got A Friend in Me."
The Broadway-style musical is set to premiere at Disney's California Adventure park in early 2011. The show takes over the Hyperion theatre, which has hosted "Aladdin - A Musical Spectacular" since it opened in 2003. The "Aladdin" musical will close on August 15th, 2010.
"Toy Story - The Musical" is another addition to the park headed to the Disneyland resort in the next few years. "California Adventure" is set to debut an all-new night-time show "World of Color" in 2010, along with a new "Little Mermaid ride" in 2011 and a whole land based on the hit movie "Cars" in 2012. Disneyland is expected to open an all new "Star Tours" ride in 2011 as well.
