WOuldn't Jasmine have to wear a veil or something? I mean, that is the religion down there, and all the other girls in that movie didn't wore one - or at least a hood!
Of course, there's the whole "it fits better with the movie" thing. Because she probably would have been adorned with lots of jewelry too.

It's highly unlikely, I mean highly unlikely that girls back then could show their stomachs to their father and walk around like that... but then again... it's disney.
In all actuality, a princess was allowed even less appeal for protection. The robe she wore when she ran away would be something she would wear around the palace. I like her outfits though, so I can't complain.

Well, this is Jasmine we're talking about, and she once stayed up for weeks to protest her bedtime.  So she probably just kept giving Sultan a hard time about the clothes until he gave in or something like that. And what what it she said about the palace? People that tell you "where to go and how to dress" (bolded for emphasis)? |

Yeah... true. Still... well, at least she doesn't have to worry about Phuck the Gay Arabian...
Or, they all could be unics. She was only 16 in the original... but it's not unheard of for like 30 yr. old guys to want 16 yr. olds. Especially seeing how she was considered "of marrying age" even before she was 16.
Could you imagine being 15 and having to marry?
Of course, when I was like 5, I was ready to marry Aladdin... who wouldn't be?

Anyway, you never see the guard's family or friends. Maybe they do or maybe they don't, none of the movies make it very clear.
