Two of a KindBy: Michelle Bowen

Prologue:

The time in the desert flew by as two old enemies Fate and Counter-Fate, dealt their blows on each others pride. Then one night a confusing mistake happened, and two worlds intertwined briefly. Or at least part of those two worlds intertwined.

Chapter 1: Face of Destiny

The desert was hot as usual that day, but in the air, magic could be felt. A sort of tingling sensation, one that made you feel full of energy all the sudden. Excitement was stirred by such feeling, and curiosity couldn't help being tickled by it. Even Chaos was curious about this feeling on that particular day. Yesenia even found it nearly impossible to sit still, long enough to listen to anyone. So she finally got up and excused herself from where she sat trying to listen to what Crystal had to say. “I'm sorry Crystal, I just can't sit still” she said feeling quite bad that she'd had to say that. Crystal nodded, “Okay I understand, go on a walk or something maybe you just need to move to calm down” she said smiling sincerely at her sister. Yesenia nodded and smiled back at Crystal. Her sister was always it seemed anyway, understanding. Crystal had short, wavy brown hair that hugged her shoulders. Her blue eyes were large and had a kind expression. They were the color of the sky on a clear day. She was slim, and short, she wasn't extremely curvy at all. That day she donned a silver shirt, with billowy silver and white pants. Her shirt was slightly showy but mostly covering since Crystal was shy about her body. Yesenia however had long midnight, black hair that was wavy, it made its way down around her waist. She had bangs as well, and her large brown eyes brimmed with curiosity and life. She was slim and curvy, also quite the opposite of her sister in many ways. She was not as shy about her body, but did not like showing to much. As her outfit that day reflected she wore a vest like shirt that showed just enough, it was a dark purple, and her billowy pants matched. Yesenia’s eagerness to get out and do something finally was eased only a small amount when she did go on the walk. Something was different today, exciting, just around the bend she was sure something new was going to happen today. Not that she didn't already lead an exciting life, she very much did. Agrabah was busy as usual, the market place was full of merchants, customers, and poor people. Yesenia paid for a few things of bread and some fruit. Then she walked over to a family that was sitting in the alleyway looking hungrily at the food. She smiled at the mother, “Here you need this more than I do” she said sincerely. The woman smiled shyly at her, “Thank you so much” she said meekly. Yesenia nodded, “You all enjoy this okay” she said feeling happy that she could help out a family. The two young children who couldn't have been more than four and five ate hungrily, and then she watched in amazement. As the young mother handed some of the gathering poor people the food they had. She smiled as she left the group of people.

The land was dark and lonely the only ones alive in it were a young man and his familiar. Mozenrath was dressed in his usual dark clothes and turban. Xerxes floated nearby him as he walked around impatiently. “What wrong master?” Xerxes asked him confused at what was wrong. Had he done something to anger Mozenrath. He hoped not because the fear he had for his master was great. Mozenrath had hurt him badly before and would not hesitate to do it again. “Nothings wrong, just something's getting ready to happen” he said impatiently. He scanned the horizon for danger, but found none. He ran his gloved hand through his curly, black hair. “What happen?” Xerxes asked looking around for whatever his master was talking about. But he could find nothing wrong. “Maybe master just nervous” Xerxes suggested regretting it the moment those words left his mouth. But before Mozenrath could do anything a strange animal appeared. “What are you?” Mozenrath asked examining the cat, who just grinned at him. “I am Chaos, You don't know me well but I know you” he said somewhat calmly. “What do you want? Mozenrath asked rolling his eyes at the strange creature. “Why Chaos of course, but I don't want to bring you where I'm about to bring you alone, so I think I'll grab an, well is she really an enemy, oh well I'll grab her anyway” he said. Then in a brilliant flash all that Mozenrath could see was the cats strangely annoying smile.

Finally the screaming pain in his head stopped and when he could open his eyes again he was a little surprised to find himself outside of his citadel. With a girl next to him, once his eyes adjusted he grimaced. Yesenia was next to him and she was now just waking up. She sat up looking very dazed, and finally looked over at him. “What happened?” she asked slowly. Soon another form flew towards them, “Xerxes get over here, why are we outside of the Citadel?” Mozenrath asked the eel as he stood up. Shaking her head trying to get herself feeling normal, Yesenia finally stood up. “Please tell me who that cat was” she said looking at Mozenrath. “I don't know I just know he is called Chaos, some pesky being whose only delight is to cause what his namesake is” Mozenrath said distractedly. Suddenly a bolt of magic smacked Yesenia in the back and caused her to fall once more. Mozenrath jumped in surprise who was in his kingdom! But when he saw who he saw his jaw opened slightly. In front of him was...............himself? “Who are you?” Mozenrath asked glaring at the young man. “I was going to ask the same of you, anyone who would work with such a treacherous snake must be mad” the young man said glowering at Yesenia. She by this time was on her feet, “What do you mean treacherous snake?” she asked in confusion, there were two Mozenraths. Just what this world needed she thought to herself sarcastically. “You kill people and take from them their hope. You make it so life is miserable for many” the young man said stiffly to Yesenia. Mozenrath started laughing at the man who was his look alike. “What do you find so funny?” the young man asked him glaring indignantly at him. “You!” he exclaimed between chuckles, “Think that she kills anyone, that's absurd” he said holding his sides. Yesenia looked at him sternly and slapped his arm. “Mozenrath I don't think your helping anything” she said between her gritted teeth. “Listen, um what was your name?” she asked him. “Mozenrath” the young man said not really surprising her but somewhat surprising her. Yesenia pushed her hair off of her shoulder, and then smiled, “Mozenrath okay, so ummm anyways, I don't think you have the right person, you see I'm not a killer, I'd never hurt anyone” she said seriously. Mozenrath’s face contoured as he looked past her. “And that is what makes you weak, and me strong!” a very familiar voice said hatefully. Yesenia whirled around and did a double take when she saw herself standing there. “Who...wha...who are you?” she asked seriously confused. “I am Yesenia queen of the land of the black sands” she said proudly. The bad Mozenrath looked at her angrily, “This is my kingdom” he shouted at her. The evil Yesenia glared at Mozenrath, “Unless you want to fight me for it I suggest you get out of here” she said glaring at him then casting a glare at Yesenia. “As for you, get out of my sight before I end your pitiful life” she glowered at the good Mozenrath. “Woah and I thought you were mean!” Yesenia exclaimed looking at Mozenrath in shock. Mozenrath eyed the new Yesenia and smirked, “I like her” he said impressed at what he was seeing. The new Yesenia wore an extremely showy outfit, with a tight top and short skirt. Her hair was tied back in a braid reaching towards her waist. Her outfit color was a black and purple outfit. She wore a type of cuff on her upper right arm, it was a simple swirl around her arm. By this time both of the others were looking at them, “Leave now!” Y.U.A. said casting them a foreboding glare and then disappearing. “Mozenrath” Yesenia said calmly rubbing her hands together. “What?” both asked her. “No, umm him the one I came here with” Yesenia said calmly. “Do you think its possible that Chaos maybe put us in the alternate fate type realm?” Yesenia asked skeptically. “Ahhhh she is smart isn't she?” a cat asked suddenly appearing. “Chaos is the name don't wear it out” he said. “Get us out of here” Mozenrath hollered at the cat. “Why I think this is interesting, and kinda chaotic don't you?” he asked them. “By the way what do you think of the new yous?” he asked them. “Mines a wimp” Mozenrath spat. Yesenia glared at him, “The me I met I never want to see again, she is just.......terrible!” Yesenia exclaimed. Chaos smiled, “That's good this is going to be interesting see you later” he said disappearing with a smile. “I'm staying” Mozenrath said seriously, “This is after all still my kingdom” he added. Yesenia rolled her eyes, “Fine you stay with miss personality” she said sarcastically. “Come on Mozenrath lets go” she said looking at the double. The two turned and headed out of the land of the black sands. Leaving Evil Mozenrath and Evil Yesenia in the land of the black sands.

Chapter 2: An Unfamiliar Home

Yesenia looked around the city she thought she knew. What had happened to Agrabah? The streets were full of starving people and a few merchants. But those merchants were very close to poor, as the frightened people who dared to peer from an alleyway. “What happened here?” Yesenia asked looking at Mozenrath. She could feel tears of sorrow welling up in her eyes. Mozenrath looked at her with amazement. “Your about to cry for all these people you don't even know! You really are different from her” he said emphasizing her. Yesenia felt a tear slip, “how can I not cry? Agrabah is my home” she said wiping away her tears. “Not this Agrabah” he paused “if Chaos said you were meeting the alternate you. If that's the case all you know is not as you know it” he said thoughtfully.. As if on cue a young girl who could only be Crystal ran by. In her hands was a stolen money pouch. Yesenia was about to go after her when a firm hand on her shoulder stopped her. “don't even bother as far ass he knows she has no sister. Yesenia was stolen from her family in the night when Crystal was younger” he said gently. She sighed and nodded, “Where you live?” she asked him trying to avoid the faces of those she knew. “At the end of this street” he said turning to the left and to a house that Yesenia knew well. But this didn't surprise her, she just assumed it was the opposite thing at work. “Please come in your welcome here as long as you need” Mozenrath said politely before ushering her inside. “Thanks” Yesenia said a feeling of relief and comfort washed over her as she sat down in a chair. Mozenrath sat next to her, “Its not much but its more than most have now” he said seriously. “Now you asked me what happened. Well the Sultan and his family are greedy and unkind. They charge enormous taxes on the people” he said and paused. “Now princess Jasmine has chosen a terribly cruel man to marry named, Aladdin” Mozenrath's face contorted. Yesenia almost wanted to laugh as if this were some kind of joke. “What?” Mozenrath asked unsure of why she was smiling. “It just sounds strange to hear Aladdin and Jasmine called greedy, unkind, and cruel. Come to think of it seems strange to hear my name synonymous with treacherous snake, or well Mozenrath kind, caring, and unselfish” Yesenia said her face going between smile and frown as if confused. The expression caused Mozenrath to start laughing. Then Yesenia joined in, “I wasn't sure whether to laugh or not” she said between giggles. “Oh it feels so good to laugh again” Mozenrath said still smiling. Yesenia’s eyes wandered over him. He was dressed very differently from the Mozenrath she knew. He wore poorer clothes, but had the same curly black hair and all. Right down to the gauntlet, this surprised her a little. “What happened?” she asked before realizing it wasn't her business. Mozenrath’s smile faded, “I don't want to talk about it” he said gently but firmly. “I am so sorry!” Yesenia exclaimed feeling ashamed of herself. “don't worry” Mozenrath replied as he stood up. “Lets eat” he said leading her to the kitchen.

Land of the Blacksands

Mozenrath wandered through his kingdom. But instead of the usually lonely streets, there was a busy marketplace. Although the people looked unhappy it was prosperous, to say the least. It was clear that though she had no mercy or kindness to show her people. She knew how to make a kingdom work. Mozenrath felt someone behind him, then watched as every man, woman, and child bowed to the ground quickly. None of them daring to look up at their queen. The fear for her was clear in the fact that a few of the children had to be quieted by their mother or father. Mozenrath turned around slowly and looked at Yesenia. A normal man would have feared the glare of those beautiful brown eyes. Her eye brows were furrowed in anger, and her lips pursed together. Her hands rested on her hips, “ I thought I told you to leave” she said in a commandingly, steady voice. “You did, but I'm not like those other two. I believe you and I see more eye to eye” he said seriously. He could feel Xerxes hiding behind him afraid of Yesenia. “Frankly I think your familiar has more brains then you. Normally I'd just kill you, or something far worse. But you are different from the pitiful coward who looks like you” she said and paused for a moment. “But I want to know exactly why there is a girl who looks exactly like me and a man that looks like you” she said keeping her face cool and calm. No evidence of her curiosity showed on her face. She carried herself with a lethal dignity, and didn't seem to be the joking type. Unlike the Yesenia Mozenrath knew well. Though he really didn't mind her all that much. “A being named Chaos decided to play a trick” he said just as calmly. He noted as he entered the Citadel that the people were still bowed to the ground. She must have taught them harsh lessons on what she wanted from them. Once inside the citadel he noticed many servants. Each of them fully aware of the punishment should they kindle the wrath of their queen. “Set a table for two tonight and show this man to his room” she said to a man servant. “Yes my queen” the man said bowing quickly. Mozenrath was impressed, this man was at least a foot taller than her. He was very muscled as well, yet he cringed like a dog at his master’s heel. Mozenrath quickly followed the man, and noticed how well the citadel was kept. Finally they stopped at a room, “this is your room” the man said with a quick bow before leaving. Mozenrath smirked when he walked into the room. The expense put into the room was done so to impress those who lived to stay. Mozenrath decided to take the time to rest while he got the chance. So he made himself comfortable and relaxed. Xerxes lay down to rest a few feet away.

Mozenrath woke up quickly when he felt someone sit on the bed right next to him. He opened his eyes slightly and smiled at Yesenia. “Why did you stay here?” she said casting a cool, unsure glance at him before looking away. “I told you, I think we see eye to eye. Plus I don't like the idea of going to Agrabah” he added as he sat up. “Agrabah has petty rulers, who only want what's best for them. They ruined their kingdom” she said indignantly. “You don't care about your people either...” he said before her glare of ice cut his statement short. “Even so I am far from petty, and my kingdom is not full of poor starving people” she said with out missing a beat. “True” Mozenrath replied part of him wished that Yesenia the one he'd come with was like this girl. They could rule the seven deserts, then again. What was going to stop him now? He and Queen Yesenia would be the perfect team. “Dinner time” Yesenia said standing up. Mozenrath stood up and followed her from the room. Leaving Xerxes alone in the richly decorated room.

Starry Dreamers

Mozenrath and Yesenia sat up on the roof of his home. Both were fixated on the stars, “At least they are still the same” Yesenia said smiling brightly. Mozenrath looked at her, “I still can't believe your Yesenia” he sighed looking away at the stars. Yesenia looked at him and smirked a little, “Believe me I know the feeling” she said and then laughed. “Who'd have ever thought that I'd be sitting on a roof looking at stars with Mozenrath!” she said her amazement at the fact evident. “You'd o have magic still right?” she asked him. Mozenrath nodded, “I prefer not to use it. I've had my life....” he stopped. “I don't use it much” he said quickly. Yesenia noticed him touch his gloved hand. “I am not trying to offend you but I know that you have nothing but a bony arm under there. Mozenrath gave his right hand for more power” Yesenia said seriously. She noticed him cringe, “Your alternate self Queen Yesenia did this to me” he paused. “I once ruled the kingdom she has” he paused. “She cursed me when I lost” he finished. Yesenia felt ashamed as though she'd hurt this man herself. Mozenrath moved closer to her, “Its not your fault” he said putting his right hand around her shoulders and pulled her close. The wind had picked up and the air had significantly cooled off. Yesenia hadn't even noticed that she was shivering. Mozenrath was dressed warmly so she smiled when he moved closer. She took his left hand in her own hands and smiled at him again. Mozenrath looked at her in surprise, but then gave her hand a gentle squeeze. “You never change Yesenia” he said putting his head against hers so they were directly face to face. She smiled a half smile, “”Ditto for you” she said and then sat back against the wall. She yawned, “I guess we'd better head in” Mozenrath said standing up. He extended his right had for her. She took it and stood up. They they headed down the ladder and into Mozenrath’s home. “This is your room” Mozenrath told her as she entered the room she knew best. Yesenia turned around quickly and gave him a hug, “Thank you” she said. He turned and left turned and left her alone in the room. Yesenia sighed and lay down on the bed. She used a small spell to get a brush and then brushed her hair. With a snap of her fingers she was in pajamas. Finally she pulled her covers up over her shoulders and drifted off to sleep. The cold desert wind spun its spell once more on the desert. Chaos looked slightly disappointed, not much chaos had happened so far. Oh well there was plenty of time for that. for now he was content to sit back, and relax, and have some whisker licking fun.

Dinner Time

The dinner was surprisingly filled with conversation, “What do you think of my kingdom?” Yesenia asked him. Mozenrath smirked then looked at her cooly, “Its people know the wrath of their queen” he said simply. “It must be odd to hear me call this my kingdom” he noticed her pause. “After all this in your world is your kingdom, but if for any moment in time you think of over throwing me. You will find out just how unwise of a choice that is” Yesenia warned him. Mozenrath rolled his eyes slightly, “Now Yesenia we both know, that we are equal in power” he said seriously. “I have more pressing concerns than trying to over throw you” he said seriously. Yesenia nodded and began to eat, she looked at Mozenrath. “The foods pretty good go on and try it” she said with a half smile. Mozenrath started to eat but found himself staring at Yesenia. He was feeling kind of odd since she looked exactly like the nice Yesenia he knew. But she was mean and so different yet so familiar. “What are you staring at?” she asked him sharply, she wasn't looking very pleased. “Well?” she asked him pushing for an answer. “I was just caught up in the fact that you are so different from the Yesenia I know” he said seriously. “Oh that's it?” she asked looking skeptical. Mozenrath smirked, “Why what do you think I was thinking?” he asked her. Yesenia shrugged, “Your a man how should I know” she said seriously. Mozenrath shrugged, “I think that's what I feel about women” he said agreeing with her. Finally the two ended dinner and went to their own rooms, Mozenrath sighed and lay down on his bed. Sleep didn't come to him, something was up, but he wasn't sure.

A couple of hours later Mozenrath felt his eyes begin to close, but was startled when his door opened quickly. He looked over at the figure that had stepped in his room. “Yesenia what are you doing?” he asked her sleepily. She signaled for him to follow her, “Something's wrong and I don't know what it is but its serious” Yesenia whispered. Mozenrath knew she was right, so he followed her. Xerxes was close behind them, but stayed under Mozenrath’s cape. They edged slowly down the hall and towards the throne room. Someone sinister and more evil than either of them was here. Someone that had so deeply affected the two that their blood would run cold in their veins. Mozenrath looked at the man in shock as they came closer. “Destane!” he exclaimed in a low whisper. Yesenia nodded, and listened to what the man was saying. “Find me the queen now!” he was ordering his mamlucks, as he watched. The man was dressed in finely woven clothes. Dark grays and blacker than black turban and cape and his whole ensemble. Mozenrath noted that the gauntlet was on his left hand instead of right hand. Destane had dark brown eyes and thin mousse hair. His face was stern and cruel, it was the face of a twisted man. His nose was large and sharp in feature, and his eyes were small and almost beady. His smile was cruel and would put fear into anyone, a man that carried hate well. Mozenrath felt his breath catching in his throat but fought back the fear. *I thought this was an alternate universe?* he thought towards Yesenia. *It is but what happened to Destane in your home?* she thought back. *I turned him into a mamluck* he said. *Well some twist of fate or alternate fate must have brought him here* she paused in her thoughts. *My master was killed by him five years ago, he took over my training and hurt me in unspeakable manners. I ran away last year* she explained. Suddenly the two realized that Destane had spotted them. With a quick movement Mozenrath teleported them out of the Citadel. Taking them away from the land of the black sands and to a sanctuary an oasis. Mozenrath looked at Yesenia he could see she was terrified, but he understood. He himself felt the fear flowing through his veins, Destane was the only one who had ever really done that to him. He noticed that Yesenia was poorly dressed for the cold desert night so he pulled of his cape and wrapped it around her. Yesenia began to pace, “We.....” she corrected herself, “I mean I need to find a way to get him out of my kingdom” she said thoughtfully. “Whatever it takes” Mozenrath said with a smirk. She turned and looked at him in surprise, “Are you offering to help?” she asked. “What do you want in return?” she asked unsurely. “A Partnership” he replied looking at her seriously. “What kind?” she asked skeptically. “We work together to rid your kingdom of Destane and we then move to the seven deserts” Mozenrath said holding out his hand. Yesenia eyed it for a moment then placed her own hand in his. “Deal” she said shaking his hand firmly and with no hesitation.

The Wrath of Destane..........

His face twisted in disgust, that boy had helped her escape. Something about that pale face, and curly black hair reminded him. Almost like a dream, five years ago his life and changed forever. A boy just like the one he saw tonight had killed him or so the boy thought. When he'd been turned into a mamluck he'd left his body. Reappearing in the body of a man who looked just like himself.. Realizing it as a second chance he found a kingdom and killed its ruler. Taking on as his apprentice a young girl, whose master he'd killed. Yesenia had served him well, and everything looked promising with her until the night she ran away. That was a year ago, he'd been searching for her and when he'd heard of the queen of this land he knew it was Yesenia. But before he'd not had a way of locating her now he could feel her magic, when she used it. The boy as for him he would die.

The Next Morning in Agrabah..............

Unaware of the imminent danger, Yesenia and Mozenrath enjoyed breakfast together. To her delight Mozenrath was an excellent cook. “Where did you learn to cook like this?” Yesenia asked him incredulously. Mozenrath smiled “I'll be honest with you I used a spell” he said sheepishly. “I am not a good cook” he explained, receiving a mischievous grin from Yesenia. “I'm an okay cook but I wouldn't call me a chef” she said with a smile. Suddenly a shadow fell as a cat formed slowly in the room. “Chaos!” Yesenia said in surprise, she stood up quickly. Mozenrath eyed the cat and waited for Yesenia to speak to him. “Boy don't I have some fun in mind for you” the cat said with a grin. Yesenia raised and eyebrow at him and crossed her arms. “I hardly think this will be fun” she said skeptically. Mozenrath moved next to Yesenia, “What are you planning?” he asked the cat. “Now if I told you that it wouldn't be a surprise would it?” he asked. Yesenia moved towards Chaos, “I've got an uh good question for you” she said to Chaos. “What?” he asked curiously. “don't you find your smile a little more than annoying?” Yesenia asked him with a lightly annoyed glare. “Ouch” he said sounding a bit offended, but making sure to smile even more. Yesenia rolled her eyes and gave an exasperated sigh. “Well hate to leave but I think its best” Chaos said while fading leaving only his grin for them to see and soon even that disappeared. “What is he up to?” Yesenia asked voicing some frustration. “First he brings us here, then this!” she exclaimed wringing her hands. Mozenrath smirked a little and walked over to her, he took both her hands in his. “Whatever it is I'll be right there with you” he said soothingly. Yesenia smiled and blushed, then sighed, “I know , but I'm not keen on surprises” she explained wrinkling her nose a little. Mozenrath chuckled, “I know the feeling” he agreed with her. “I want to speak with the Princess” Yesenia told him suddenly. “I'll be back soon she said as she pulled the hood of her cape over her head. “It won't do any good” Mozenrath tried to tell her. Yesenia shrugged, “I've gotta try” she said seriously. “Okay Mozenrath said giving her a wave. In a brilliant flash of blue light she was gone.

Destane...........

Destane sat and looked at the map of the desert. He could feel her power nearby. But it was coming from two different points at once. How could that be possible, the answer was beyond him. One of the places was a small oasis and the other was Agrabah. Sighing he stood up, “Varinden” he hollered. The young boy ran into the library, Varinden was his new apprentice. “What is it master?” the boy asked bowing. “I want you to go to Agrabah and search for this girl” Destane said causing an image of the evil Yesenia to form. “If you find her come get me I'll be here” he said pointing down at the oasis. “As you wish” Varinden said bowing deeply and then teleporting to Agrabah. Destane disappeared from the Citadel.

Oasis.........

The night had been a trying one they'd both taken turns watching and waiting. Nerves on end, and exhaustion threatening to cause their heavy eyelids to close. It was Yesenia’s watch and she was worse off then Mozenrath. A bush moved and she quickly shot a bolt of magic at a rabbit. She laughed at herself afterwards but remained calm. At the very same time in Agrabah her good self had teleported to the palace. She was unaware of the fact that Destane could sense her. Mozenrath finally woke up, “So how was your watch?” he asked her. She watched him as he stretched, “A rabbit scared me and I shot a bolt of magic at it” she said wryly. Mozenrath looked at her in shock. “You didn't” he moaned. “So I was nervous” she said defensively. I understand that, but Destane has probably placed a way to sense your magic!” Mozenrath told her. “Why didn't you warn me?!” she asked in surprised fear. Before Mozenrath could answer that a brilliant flash of light blinded them both. Once they could see they wished that they weren't there. Destane glared down at them, he held himself high. “Hello did you miss me?” he asked the two of them. Mozenrath and Yesenia stood up quickly, both were side by side. Yesenia held tightly to Mozenrath’s left arm, her face was pale and eyes wide with fear. “Mozenrath you don't like seeing your old master the one you tried to kill?” Destane asked as if he didn't know it. Mozenrath was clearly to shocked to move, he stood still and gawked at Destane. Yesenia shook Mozenrath’s hand, gulping she tried to fight down her fear. She stood taller and allowed her hands to begin to glow with magic. Destane ripped a couple of crystals from the air, “Ixtala” he screamed. The crystals began to glow, a beam shot out of each crystal grabbing Yesenia, Mozenrath and Xerxes. They screamed in pain as they were pulled into each crystal. Destane smiled and made the crystals disappear. He sat down and waited for Variden to come back.

The two faces of a ruler...........

Yesenia reappeared in an alley way, and walked up to the palace steps. “Halt” a tall, burly guard said. Yesenia recognized him right away. “I have come to speak with the royal family” Yesenia said holding herself high. “I am Yesenia Queen of the land of the black sands” she said firmly. Rasoul looked at her skeptically, “Where are your guards?” he asked her. “I don't need them right now” she said seriously. “Fazaal, announce Queen Yesenia from the land of the black sands” Rasoul said. Fazaal nodded and entered the palace. He reappeared, “You may come in” he said and lead them to the throne room. As they went through the palace she began to get angry there was so much money wasted in here. The people were starving, the Aladdin and Jasmine she knew would never have allowed this to happen. As she entered the throne room she looked at Jasmine and had to fight to keep her jaw from dropping. Jasmine stood in a corner, she was quiet, and elaborately dressed. Aladdin sat on the throne next to the very sullen looking Sultan. Aladdin was sitting up looking totally proud. At that moment she wished to be back in Agrabah the one she knew. “Queen Yesenia” the sultan said nodding his head. “What has brought you all this way?” Aladdin asked using his phony Ali voice the one that Jasmine had told her about. “My concern for your kingdoms well being your highness” she said with a bow. “Our! kingdom is doing fine” Jasmine said with a bored yawn. Yesenia fought to keep from slapping the princess, “Princess Jasmine, I beg to differ, upon arriving here I've seen the streets filled with poor, starving people” Yesenia said seriously. “What do the street rats have to do with us its there own fault” the sultan said seriously. “No sir!” she said realizing she was loosing her temper but so be it. “Its your fault your high taxes is what's at fault all you care about is how comfortable you are. While in your streets there is a mother who looks into the eyes of her young child and can not tell the starving child when they will eat” Yesenia snapped at him. Jasmine gasped in shock, “As of this day you are no longer welcome here” Aladdin said angrily. “Fine I don't want to be around such petty, stuck up, annoying, worthless rulers such as you” she snapped and disappeared before anyone could say a thing.

Variden had been walking the filthy streets of Agrabah, and to think this had once been his home. He'd been searching all day but couldn't locate Yesenia as of yet. Then he noticed an alley way light up. A young woman walked out of the alley. She had long black hair, large brown eyes, and fit the description of the woman Destane was looking for. Quickly he followed her, he needed to know where to find her again. He watched as she entered a house near the market place. He took in details and then teleported to where Destane waited for him. “I have found her master” he said and the two of them disappeared together.

Mozenrath had listened to Yesenia’s story of the conversation with the royal family. “I tired to warn you” he said simply. Yesenia shook her head, “I wish I was home” she said sighing. “I hate seeing Agrabah like this” she added. Mozenrath nodded, “don't worry everything will be just fine” he said truthfully. A knock interrupted their conversation, “Who could that be?” Mozenrath asked. Yesenia jumped up, “I'll get it” she said and opened the door. Her face paled and her eyes widened in fear. She stumbled backwards, and bumped into Mozenrath. Destane pushed the door open, then stepped into the room followed by a boy. The boy closed the door quickly. “Okay m....maybe this is the good Destane” she suggested trying to keep from screaming. “So there are two of you” Destane glowered looking down at Yesenia. He looked at Mozenrath, who'd stepped between him and Yesenia. “What's going on here?” Destane asked looking at Yesenia. “Chaos brought me and a different man that looks just like him here” Yesenia said her fear caught in her throat. Destane had an evil, unkind spark in his eyes, and it was so frightening. Mozenrath looked at the man, “What do you want?” he asked. “Revenge” Destane said, “I must punish her for defying me” he added. Mozenrath’s gauntlet began to glow, “Stay away” he ordered Destane. “Stay out of this fool” Destane bellowed angrily. “N.......”Mozenrath felt Yesenia’s right hand go over his mouth, *Listen to me, you are the only one who can hear me. I'm going with him you must come after me, I need to know if he caught Mozenrath apparently he knows theres two of us. So I have to go* she told him. Mozenrath looked her in the eyes, and realized she knew what she was doing. Yesenia eyed Destane and moved towards him, “We settle this away from Agrabah” she said firmly. Destane looked slightly surprised by her sudden firmness. “Fine” he said and grabbed her left arm, with a quick swipe of his cape he, Yesenia, and the boy were gone. Mozenrath wished he hadn't let her go with this mad man but he knew Yesenia knew what she was doing. With a sigh he began to go over ideas in his head.

Doom........

When they reappeared in the land of the black sands Yesenia noticed crystals. There were two of them in the corner of the throne room. Destane still had a good grip on her left arm, he dragged her over to the crystals. Waving his left hand a large anti-magic prison cell appeared. He tossed her in it before she could react, the crystals were with her. Yesenia knew who was in them and didn't wish to look, it was no sight any magic user wanted to see. “Ixtravor” Destane bellowed and watched as Mozenrath and Yesenia were released from the crystal. Nia watched as they gasped for air, “Are you okay?” she asked she knew from stories that these crystals hurt badly. Mozenrath looked at her dazedly, “What are you doing here?” he said unsteadily. Before she could answer Destane moved towards them, “Each of you has crossed me on one way or another, but one worse than the others” he said glaring at Mozenrath. Mozenrath cringed, he knew what would come from this. “As for you Yesenia and Yesenia” Destane had an odd look on his face but recovered. “You will be punished but the boy Mozenrath will die at dawn” he said giving the sentence to them. Nia stepped forward boldly, “You aren't going to kill him I won't let you” she said bravely. “Like you could stop me” Destane sneered. “Your not invincible” Nia said firmly. Destane frowned at her, “I'm well aware of that, but I have plenty of things that will keep you under control” he explained. “Just be quiet we don't need him an angrier” Mozenrath said seriously as he sat down on the floor. Nia looked at her other self, sighing she joined Mozenrath on the floor. Queen Yesenia remained standing. Mozenrath’s doom could be felt in the air.

A Plan.......

Determination was set on his face. He would rescue Yesenia, Mozenrath thought to himself. He knew exactly what he had to do, and he wouldn't fail her. Mozenrath smiled once he knew everything was intact for his plan. Finally he lifted his cape over himself and in the blink of an eye had disappeared from his home. He reappeared in the kingdom he'd once ruled, appearing in an abandoned house. He quickly walked out and cast an invisibility spell so he could move around without being seen. Near the citadel he noticed a small crowd, funny considering it was at least an hour before dawn. He couldn't have known it was for his alternate-self, but he did know something was wrong. Considering that there was a chopping block, and an executioner. Quickly he passed the guards and entered the Citadel, he snuck through some back rooms. Finally coming upon the throne room. The first thing he noticed was the cage with three people. Mozenrath felt his lip curl slightly when he saw Queen Yesenia, and then noticed his other self sitting forlornly on the ground. Yesenia sat on the ground near the bars of the cage holding onto them and looking at the high window. The stars were fading slowly, *Mozenrath where are you?* she asked him forlornly calling out to him through his head. *I'm here Yesenia you can't see me but I'm here* he answered her. Yesenia didn't even look up, *Destane has these bars magic proof and Mozenrath has till dawn till he is dead* Yesenia told him seriously. *I guess I don't have much time* Mozenrath replied wryly. *You need to make a distraction to get him out of here* Yesenia thought to him indicating by looking at Destane. In only seconds of her suggestion something outside exploded loudly. Destane ran out of the room to find out what was happening, as soon as he'd left Mozenrath dropped his concealment. Running over he pulled out a diamond dust coated sword. He quickly began to saw through the metal bars, “I thought he said this was magic proof?” the evil Yesenia said unsurely. “Diamonds are the hardest minerals on earth add them to a sword and you can get through anything” Mozenrath said as he finally finished the job. Queen Yesenia and his evil self stepped out, quickly followed by Yesenia. She gave him a quick hug, “Thanks” she said with relief. “Now where do you think your going!” a voice bellowed, they turned quickly to see Destane. Mamlucks ran into the room and proceeded towards them. They were very different in strength compared to the ones in Mozenrath’s kingdom. Yesenia learned that quickly as one grabbed her and threw her towards Destane, she skidded across the floor. Stopping closer to Destane than she would have liked, she quickly jumped up and ran towards the mamluck. Diving at him she sent him and herself sprawling across the floor, she quickly blasted him with magic. Joining the fight with the others using her magic on the rest of them. She bumped into the evil Mozenrath, “Why don't you kill Destane already?” he asked her. “I am not killing him you wanna kill him you do your own dirty work” she snapped. Two mamlucks jumped through the magic they were throwing at them, and one grabbed Yesenia. This time the flight acrossed the room ended at Destane’s feet. He gripped her hair around the nape of her neck and pulled her up. Blinded by pain she couldn't tell what was happening only the pain was evident. “Let her go” she heard someone say through the blur of pain. She felt something fly through the air and hit Destane. His grip on her hair released quickly and left her sprawled on the floor. Quickly she turned over and made herself push as far from Destane as she could get. A brilliant blue light surrounded him and in a flash of brilliant white light which blinded them all. He stood before them, something changed, his eyes glowed with kindness. “Thank you for freeing me” he said looking at both Mozenrath’s to Yesenia’s surprise it hadn't’ been only one voice. But had been two, of course through pain and even without the pain of being lifted by your hair. she'd have never guessed they'd both helped her. Queen Yesenia moved towards Yesenia, and pulled her to her feet, “you'll live” she said dryly. Yesenia smirked wryly at her, “I know” she said seriously. But her head her so badly, she sighed. “Okay what do you mean free you?” she asked. “One night a curse fell upon me and stole my body leaving me a prisoner unable to stop his hideous deeds. He was going to kill you but when their magic hit it killed him and released me” he said looking at them all. He lifted his cape and disappeared, “Farewell” he said as he disappeared.

Dawn that day was more beautiful than ever for both Yesenia’s and both Mozenrath’s. So new and wonderful, they stood outside the citadel and watched the sunrise. Then to their right a cat form appeared with a smile, Yesenia of Agrabah had to shake her head in agitation. “Now what?” she asked him, “Nothing” he said with a Cheshire smile. Two more forms appeared, a feline/human woman appeared followed by a blindfolded man. They seemed really close considering that they were embracing in a hug. “Fashir?......Mirage?” Yesenia asked questioningly, this couldn't be Mirage. She looked............nice! “Yesenia Ulaya Izmet and lord Mozenrath you have been brought here to right a terrible wrong and you have succeeded in bringing the wrong to an end. Now it is time to return to your true home” Fashir said. “You can say your good byes” Mirage told them reassuringly. Mozenrath turned to Queen Yesenia, “Well it would have been fun defeating everyone here, but I guess it wasn't meant to be” he said with a smirk of arrogance. She smirked back at him, “I guess not....to bad you were kinda cute” she said seriously and then frowned. “don't suppose we could send the goody two shoes home together and leave him here?” she asked Mirage. “No its not possible” the feline said with a soft gentle smile. “Fine, well I guess this is good bye” she said shaking his hand. “I'll make a deal with you, you try and conquer the seven deserts where you are and I'll conquer them where I am” she said, “That was the deal” she added. Her smile faded and she turned and left. Yesenia and the good Mozenrath stood by each other, “I'm going to miss you” Yesenia said sadly. Mozenrath nodded, “I'll miss you too” he said, and looked into her eyes. They moved closer and gave each other a kiss, after parting Yesenia noticed the left hand on Mozenrath was glowing, “What's happening?” she asked. Mozenrath looked down and watched as the gauntlet disappeared in a shimmer of gold revealing his hand once more whole again. Yesenia smiled happily at him, “The curse is gone, how?” she asked him. “The curse, was, The day I kiss you is the day your hand returns” he said. “She was mocking me” he explained, and examined his hands. “I didn't know it would apply to you” he added. He gave her a quick hug, “I'll see you when forever happens” he said seriously and then turned and left. Yesenia of Agrabah and Mozenrath of the land of the black sands stood side by side. Watching as Fashir and Mirage opened a portal, they cast one look backwards. Mozenrath’s was of regret at not being able to stay and conquer this place with the evil Yesenia. Yesenia’s was of regret at having to leave someone she'd befriended but happiness at returning to Agrabah the one she knew. With fair rulers, family, friends, and another Arabian night full of adventure. Stepping through the portal hand in hand they made their way acrossed time and space and home where they were meant to be.

Until Another Arabian Night...................May it be filled with magic, mystery, and adventure.........Salaam and Good Evening my friends.....................
